Scotsman Prodigy undercounter icemakers: dice ice at its best, all the time

The Scotsman Prodigy CU3030 from Hubbard SystemsCompetition is tough in the pub, bar and nightclub circuit with venues striving for new ways to attract customers. Service has to be fast, drinks have to perfect – there’s no room for errors. The back bar area needs to look clean and stylish while at the same time being a functional and pleasant place to work.

With today’s move towards cocktails, both conventional and exotic, and emphasis on finding exciting twists for presenting non-alcoholic drinks, bar managers are finding that they increasingly need a steady supply of high quality ice. Scotsman integral Prodigy icemakers, available in the UK from Hubbard Systems, are designed to keep busy bars stocked up with ice without creating any extra work for staff.

The undercounter Prodigy icemakers are smart in both looks and operation. They make dice ice cubes, which are ideal for using in all kinds of drinks year round. Nightclubs can get pretty hot as they fill up and the action takes off. The Prodigy icemakers are built to cope with these fluctuating temperatures, their adaptive cycle control fine tunes the machine functions for best performance and top quality ice cubes at all times.

The machines are self-monitoring and a ‘clean me’ light indicates when it’s time to perform routine maintenance or to call for a service engineer. Scotsman’s ‘watersense’ technology adapts to the local conditions of water hardness and reduces scale build-up, keeping the machine cleaner for longer. Meanwhile an energy saving system optimises the efficiency of ice production and reduces operating costs.

There are two models in the range. The smaller CU2026, measuring 660mm wide x 695mm deep x 838mm high, has an ice production rate of 90kg of ice in 24 hours, the equivalent of 9000 medium dice cubes, and a storage bin capacity of 36kg. The large CU3030 is 762mm wide and 762mm deep x 838mm high, produces 130kg of ice in 24 hours and has a storage bin capacity of 50kg.

For installation flexibility, the icemakers have front panel ventilation and easy to reach connections and controls. Built with food-grade stainless steel frames and side panels for durability and ease of cleaning, the internal components use AgION, a silver-based anti-microbial compound, to reduce growth of bacteria, microorganisms, algae, mould and slime on ice machine surfaces.

List price for the smaller CU2026 is £2,750.
